The Sussex Inlet – South Coast of NSW
Originally settled in 1880, Sussex Inlet has grown from a small holiday village into a well-equipped community. Sussex Inlet is known as the Island Township and is located two and half-hours from Sydney and three hours from Canberra.
Sussex Inlet is proud of its lovely white, sandy surfing beaches and lots of inland waterways offering a variety of water activities. Swan Lake is popular for water skiing and sailing. If you are interested in land activities there are great bush walking tracks with plenty of wildlife to see plus our famous golf course with its resident kangaroos. For a relatively small town Sussex Inlet has ample medical facilities on hand with an ambulance station, three doctors surgeries, a dentist, chemist and optometrist.
As you start to unwind and enjoy your stay in Sussex Inlet you can try our local cuisine at the RSL Club, Bowling Club, Jopen Restaurant and MEnU 1 Eighty 2 Woodfire Pizza. Try Collins’ Fresh River & Seafood for the best seafood in town. Have a coffee, breakfast and lunch at Joanies Cafe, Jopen Cafe or Cudmirrah General Store/Cafe and watch the world go by. You can do your grocery shopping in town at SPAR, or take a drive north to Nowra or south to Ulladulla. We now also have our own 25 metre Community indoor heated swimming pool and Tennis courts.
